I work alone. I have an office at home and see no one

until my better half comes back from work in the late

afternoon. Or early evening.

I’m asked the odd time if I ever get lonely? My

answer is talking out loud to myself helps. I call out

to our two German Shepherds, who have the run of

the house, to COME!

I can only imagine they glance at each other, agree

that guy in the back room is lonely. Let’s go cheer him up.

Author’s comment: Writing fiction fills my day. I enjoyed

making up stories as a kid. I learned through endless

rewrites that you make sure they sounded real, whether

they were or not.
