I’ve been wondering if the books I’ve written, most of them

fiction, stand up to the test of time? Are they still readable?

Enjoyable? Worth keeping?

What’s next? Turn any of them into a screenplay and hope

for a miracle. I did it with THE MORNING MAN which eventually

became a motion picture. Will it ever

happen? Who knows

Talking to a female cousin recently, I mentioned my knees

wouldn’t put up with me running on them anymore.

“So what,” said Araby . “Your brain is still ticking. That’s

what counts.”

She nailed it. Good advice for anyone.

Author’s comment: If there‘s anything I’ve learned from the

past it’s letting it stay mainly where it is. It’s done its job,

paving a way for what’s ahead.

I’ve worked from home for more years that I

can remember. I’m asked if I miss the company

of others during the day.

My work is mostly solitary as it is, which means

I’m used to it.

Then again I’m far from alone, with two large

German Shepherds to keep me company. They

push my office door open with their snouts,

come over to make sure if I’m okay.

Satisfied, they head out to the long wood

deck, stretch out and soak up the sun. What a life.

Writer’s comment: Writing mostly fiction, it‘s

something to see how characters develop as if on

their own. It takes rewrite after rewrite –

sometimes longer to get it right.
