The solution is reading whatever you’ve done several (many)
times. Then edit, edit, edit.

Gone with the wind! The final days of autumn
with all the glorious color – brought to us
by the oaks and maples – has disappeared.
Leaves that were so colorful have lost
the will to live.
Look what they brought us! The reds, the
yellows, the orange have all faded. Leaves
fluttering to the ground. Lying dormant until
someone might sweep them up.
AUTHOR’S COMMENT: Nothing lasts forever. We’d
be bored if it did. What’s next? Prepping for winter.
Packing away the deck chairs. Sweeping the deck.
Replenishing the bird seed. Daily. Remembering
where we packed away the snow shovels.
Getting used to the days turning dark far too soon.
Something that creeps up without us realizing it.
