I’m the third generation to be Nathaniel Clarke

Wallace 3. Our son came along and I thought ‘three’

was enough. i said to my wife Rosanne,  “What if we call

him George or Henry or…”


Rosanne (Roe) looked at me as if I’d lost my marbles.

         “You’ve got to be kidding," she said. “You’re the third

Nathaniel Clarke Wallace.” She added, “He’ll be IV!


Writer’s comment: We call our son Nathaniel. Although

he has the full name. He’s the 4th. And has no trouble with it.

Meaning  fathers are not always right. Right?
