GETTING STARTED.

I often wonder what starts someone on
a project. Let’s say writing a book picked up
by a publisher.
It comes out with the usual blurb to catch
a possible reader’s imagination.
On the inside cover of WANTED: Donald Morrison
(Doubleday) it tells the true story of someone who
fought a courageous battle against injustice
in the Eastern Townships of Quebec: and lost.
Or a screenplay called WYATT & WYATT: with this
to catch a producer’s eye:
‘Twenty-eight years ago Martha Wyatt gave up law
to raise a family. She’s back facing a counselor
as tough as she is compassionate: Her daughter.
Writer’s comment: One more? ‘A seasoned rodeo
rider Is dragged back to the 1880s to remedy an
oversight in a cowboy’ s untimely death.’
A western? You bet.
