We’re almost halfway through the season. I ‘ve decided

what needs to be done over the next few months.

-- The wood deck needs a fresh coat of stain.

-- Storms during the past few weeks have left

the gravel driveway looking sorry for itself.

-        My home office is a mess. As if I never throw

anything out.

-        Loose pages of rewrites clutter the desk. The

chairs. The floor.

I have the habit of printing what I’ve written at the

time, making it easier for me to edit.

Which means having to make the same changes

on the laptop. A waste of time.

Who knows it better than me. Be ruthless, I tell

myself. Toss out what ‘s been bugging me for so long.

Writer’s comment: What better time than now .

Take the proverbial bull by the horns.

Tomorrow is Monday. Hmm.

That’s exactly what I’ll do.
